Metro Manila mayors have decided to close gyms, spas, and internet cafes in the region during the period of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from Tuesday, March 23 until April 4.

Presidental Spokesperson Harry Roque announced this during a MalacaƱang press briefing: “Metro Manila mayors voted that gyms, spas and internet cafes will be closed for the next two weeks”.

What does this mean for spa business owners?

All of the spa in Metro Manila and NCR Plus areas affected may not be able to operate. However, home service massage and outcall services may still be available for some of them.

For some customers, they might find it safe to just follow the protocols and not avail any of the services at the moment.

However for spa business owners, a lot has also been complaining about recently being able to go back to operations only to find out they’re closing again and probably in an indefinite amount of time given the rising cases.

What are your thoughts about this? Are you still getting a massage over the next few days?
